President Lu Fuping warmly received the visiting guests, with key leaders from the College of Biotechnology and the College of Food Science and Engineering, as well as faculty representatives, in attendance.
During the exchange symposium, President Lu Fuping provided a comprehensive introduction to the university's historical evolution, educational characteristics, and notable achievements since the implementation of the "Pioneer Plan." He emphasized that deepening the integration of universities, enterprises, and governments, and strengthening collaborative innovation in industry-university-research cooperation, are effective measures to enhance the quality of talent cultivation and enterprise production technologies. In the future, the university will deeply integrate technological and industrial innovation, driving technological advancements through industrial renewal. It will continue to strengthen the construction of advantageous and distinctive disciplines, explore new growth points in emerging disciplines, and supply high-quality innovative talents for major national development strategies and local regional economic development. He hoped that both parties could further integrate their advantageous resources, conduct joint research in talent cultivation, scientific research, and achievement transformation, target the needs of the national health industry and local regional economic development, and promote research and practice in the fields of biomanufacturing, brewing, and food safety. This would implement the integrated strategic deployment of education, science and technology, and talent, and empower the development of new quality productive forces.
Song Huadong, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and District Governor of Rencheng District, Jining City, congratulated the university on its achievements in scientific research innovation and talent cultivation. He stated that Jining City, located in the western plain of Shandong Province, is currently an important base for the development of the food and pharmaceutical, and timber and paper-making industries, which are highly compatible with the advantageous and distinctive disciplines of light industry and food at Tianjin University of Science and Technology. The enterprises seeking technical support during this visit included Shandong Yutang Sauce Garden Co., Ltd., a 300-year-old heritage brand; Shandong Jining Xinxin Liquor Co., Ltd., renowned in the local liquor industry; Shandong Aifudi Biological Co., Ltd., an emerging enterprise in the biological fertilizer industry; and Shandong Kangmei Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., with 20 years of operation in the health industry. All parties came with "real issues" and hoped for precise alignment, mutual promotion, and the establishment of a shared service platform. They proposed forming a dedicated working group, establishing an operational model with monthly implementation, quarterly progress, and annual summaries, formulating long-term development plans, signing strategic cooperation agreements, and creating a long-term institutional mechanism for the rapid transformation of cooperative achievements to address these "real issues."
At the symposium, Du Xinjun, Secretary of the Party Committee of the College of Food Science and Engineering, and Zhang Cuiying, Associate Dean of the College of Biotechnology, respectively reported on the disciplines, faculty, scientific research, and talent cultivation of their respective colleges. Subsequently, representatives from both sides engaged in in-depth discussions on issues such as food safety processing, liquor technology research, biological agent utilization, and the development of a series of new products in related projects. They also explored the deep integration of education, talent, and industrial chains driven by government-enterprise-university collaboration, as well as promoting high-quality employment for university students, reaching preliminary cooperation intentions. In the future, both parties will engage in comprehensive cooperation in fields such as liquor brewing process optimization, biopharmaceutical new product development, and talent cultivation, jointly promoting the high-quality development of the light industry and food sectors and propelling regional economic and social development to new heights.
