Promoting Excellence through Evaluation: An Immersive Learning Experience! The Trade Union of the College of Biotechnology Innovatively Launches a "Cloud Challenge" Quiz Mode, with All Staff Actively Embracing the Undergraduate Education and Teaching Accreditation
Release Date: March 26, 2025
In response to the call for the undergraduate education and teaching accreditation work of the university and to further drive high-quality development in education and teaching, the Trade Union of the College of Biotechnology meticulously organized an online science popularization quiz event on accreditation-related knowledge from March 19 to 21. This event transformed the "accreditation" into a "cloud-based challenge game" that integrated knowledge quizzes, case discussions, and achievement displays. Held at a crucial time when the university was preparing for the accreditation, this event held significant practical value.
This "Cloud Challenge" event was carried out in two well-organized stages. From March 19 to March 20, the school encouraged comprehensive and in-depth learning of relevant content by units such as teaching and research sections, research groups, work teams, and individuals. The purpose of this learning phase was to enable teachers to fully understand the importance, core content, and specific requirements of the accreditation, laying a solid foundation for subsequent quizzes and better preparation for the accreditation work. Teachers engaged in various learning methods, including group discussions and individual self-study, carefully studied the materials, actively exchanged insights, and gained a deeper understanding and awareness of the undergraduate education and teaching accreditation work. On March 21, the event entered its second stage. Within the specified time, teachers logged onto the online quiz platform to complete science popularization quizzes related to the accreditation work. The quiz content was closely related to accreditation knowledge, covering key aspects such as school positioning, talent cultivation, teaching resources, quality assurance, and the "Pioneer Plan."
The online "challenge" learning mode of this special quiz event for the undergraduate education and teaching accreditation provided immediate feedback on learning effectiveness. Through three consecutive days of innovative practice, not only did it achieve full participation from all teachers in the school, but it also ensured the practical application of key knowledge from the "Tianjin University of Science and Technology Undergraduate Education and Teaching Accreditation: Knowledge You Should Know Handbook" through interactive mechanisms such as the "Learning Points Leaderboard" and the "Wrong Answer Analysis Wall." This further deepened teachers' understanding of education and teaching work, contributing to the overall improvement of the college's education and teaching quality. Meanwhile, the "Cloud Challenge" learning format was lively, engaging, convenient, and efficient. The event not only received unanimous praise from the majority of teachers and students in the school but also attracted the active participation of many teachers from other colleges. It helped create a favorable atmosphere where everyone was involved and fully prepared for the accreditation, demonstrating good potential for promotion and exemplification.
Xu Qingyang, Chairman of the College Trade Union, stated, "We are creating a new paradigm of 'education through evaluation,' shifting quality improvement and knowledge learning from passive acceptance to active creation." Relevant college leaders indicated that they would take this event as an important opportunity to further strengthen teaching management and build a favorable environment for accreditation preparation. Next, the college will continue to improve the teaching quality assurance system, optimize curriculum settings and teaching methods, and make comprehensive preparations for the upcoming undergraduate education and teaching accreditation.
